West Los Angeles Obedience Training Club

Our Programs & Services

Through hands-on training classes, enrichment activities, skills testing and competition, social events, and community service programs, we build, support, and celebrate our community.

We offer multi-level progressive training for dogs and their handlers to foster safe, responsible pet ownership. The program reduces behavioral problems, improves public safety, and strengthens the human–animal bond. Add additional information…

From agility to nose work, we provide recreational fitness and socialization opportunities for dogs and handlers. The program fosters discipline, respect for community rules, and strong human-animal partnerships.

We bring animal-assisted therapy services to hospitals and care facilities, improving the emotional and physical well-being of patients of all ages. We provide training and mentoring for those owners who want their pets to become therapy dogs.

Competition & Testing

We host three CPE agility trials a year, and host several AKC testing days a year where we offer Tricks and CGC testing. We also offer a mentoring program for those interested in competing in obedience, rally, agility, and more.

Canine Good Citizen (CGC)

Obedience Trial

We train responsible ownership, ensuring that dogs demonstrate safe and reliable behavior in public settings. We administer CGC testing on an ongoing basis to award our well-trained pups their certificates of accomplishment.

Community Programs

Robert Cabral

We host expert speakers at our community meetings and promote various community programs we partner with throughout the year. We also donate a portion of our event proceeds to select community partners.

Upcoming Events

West LA Obedience Training Club is a fully volunteer-run organization that was created to serve the community by providing classes, educational programs, and public service projects that promote humane training, responsible ownership, and the proper care of canine companions, and to enhance public safety and community well-being through the safe and orderly integration of dogs into society.

Membership is open to all like-minded individuals who wish to join our community. Member applications are reviewed by our entire membership and voted in by our board. Members are required to attend a minimum of two club events per year and are expected to volunteer their time on a committee or supporting an event. Members get priority enrollment in classes and access to member-only classes, and so much more.
