Agility Competition Class

Instructor: Melissa Henning. Currently all of our classes are FULL.

Agility Competition Class is designed for teams actively competing in agility at the highest levels. Students in this class must be club members and approval by the Agility Director is required. Waitlist only.

This class is reserved for current WLAOTC members.

Competition Agility Class Guidelines

• Class fees need to be paid by the second class of the session.
• Please be on time and ready to go at the beginning of class.
• Dogs are required to be in crates or X-pens when not in the ring and on leash between the ring and crate.
• Participants in the first class of the day will help set up equipment. Participants in the last class will help put away equipment.
• Between runs, all handlers will help reset the course, e.g., jump bars.
• No class makeups are allowed; however, if you are unable to make a class, you may offer/sell your time slot to another team.
• Handlers are only allowed one space in a class and one class per day.
• To be eligible for the Competition Agility Class, teams must be competing in standard at the Excellent/Masters level in AKC, Level 5/ C in CPE, or Senior in UKI. Ability to independently complete 12 weave poles and safely execute full height contacts is required.
• Once a dog retires, the handler is no longer eligible for that spot.

• Handlers are required to volunteer with the club 10 hours per year. See below.
• Teams must compete a minimum of 6 days per 6-month period. See below.

Reporting for ALL permanent and waitlist teams:

1. Handlers must hold a current position with the Club (board member, class registrar, committee member) OR volunteer at club events a minimum of 10 hours per year to be eligible for this class. Full or partial hours will be reported in June and all hours need to be completed by January. Lifetime Club Members do not need to report.
2. Trial participation will be verified in June and January reporting. Teams do not need to qualify; they just need to have participated.

Dog Safety Policy

For the benefit of all of our dogs and humans, we have implemented the following WLAOTC Dog Safety Policy. If you have any questions or concerns after reading the policy, please email us at wlaotc@wlaotc.com.

FOR ALL CLASSES: Unless you are actively running the course, dogs must be leashed and held by a person, placed inside a crate or in an Xpen during class time. Tying dogs to fences, benches, stakes or the like is not allowed.
